How it all began...
'some GoodNews' started out in 2002 as a small magazine for the Churches in our local area. The magazine was well received and later it was decided that we would launch it onto the open market. Unfortunately, there was no 'print-on-demand' facilities back then and the cost of traditional printing was out of our reach at the time. So we decided to launch it as an online magazine instead; which is what we did.
It was an interesting and exciting venture, but I soon learned that I still had a lot to learn. They say the best way to learn something is to be thrown into the deep end. I'm not sure I always agree with that, but in this case, it worked for me. Before long I was not only writing my own articles, but receiving articles, short stories and poetry from writers all over the world. Suddenly I was an editor as well. It was hard work and there were draw-backs, e.g. rejecting a writer's submission. As a writer myself I know what rejection feels like and I seriously disliked doing it others. Sadly, it is a necessary part of the job.
As time went by I found that I was not getting a chance to write as much as I wanted to and the decision was made to discontinue the magazine.
I was very involved in Children's Ministry in our Church at the time and as I started writing again, the idea for my first book was born. Since 'some GoodNews' was a registered business, it was decided that we would publish the book under the same label, but it would now be called 'some GoodNews Publications'.
From humble beginnings, our vision continues to expand.
Our goal however, has always been to:
1. Exalt the Name of Jesus
2. Offer quality reading material, no matter what the format, that will help, encourage and uplift those exposed to its message.
